The Co-operative Store

Located in Scarinish, this is the main shop on the island. It has a wide range of fresh and chilled foods and a large selection of fruit and vegetables.

Transport

Caledonian MacBrayne ferry service from Oban. They operate a ‘roll on roll off’ service for  passengers with vehicles and foot passengers. There is a daily ferry service in summer from Oban. In winter the ferry operates 5 days a week.

Flybe operates a regular air service from Glasgow Airport that takes approximately 50 minutes. Flights from Glasgow operate everyday except Sunday in the winter and every day in the summer. From August 2015 there will be 2 daily flights to Glasgow.

Hebridean Air Services operate a service between Oban, Coll and Tiree. This service operates on Monday and Wednesday.

Medical Services

The island has a highly regarded medical centre with doctors and nurses trained and equipped to deal not only with routine health matters but also with emergencies. Patients who require urgent hospital treatment are transferred without delay by air ambulance or helicopter to a major Glasgow hospital. Tiree also boasts an excellent dental surgery and NHS treatment is regularly available each month from a visiting dentist. The island also has its own optometrist, who has recently set up a new business in the rural centre near the airport.

An Tirisdeach

An Tirisdeach is the fortnightly newsletter written and produced on the island. It is available from local shops on the island and by post through an annual subscription. http://antirisdeach.com/

Blue Beyond

We produce paintings, textiles, raku pottery and fine art prints in our studio at Balemartine on the Isle of Tiree.

Tyrii Pottery

Located in Baugh, open throughout the year producing pottery inspired by the Isle of Tiree.

Beachcombers

As well as our Paint your Own Pottery studio, we have now added other fun craft activities for rainy (and sunny) days!  Coffees, teas, soft drinks and homemade cakes (made using local free range eggs) are also available.

Chocolates & Charms

Shop in Heylipol selling handmade chocolates and handcrafted jewellery all made on the island. There is also a wide selection of island inspired gifts and tea/coffee and cakes.

Dorinda Johnson

Located in Scarinish Harbour The studio/gallery of artist Dorinda Johnson, sells original paintings, prints and pottery as well as fine art cards.

Partricia Templeton Sharp

Located in Caolas the studio gallery of artist Patricia Templeton Sharp, who works mainly in gouache and oils.

Tiree Glass

Glass artist Frances Woodhead creates a range of functional and visual art using vibrant glass sheets from recycled bottle and window glass at her studio in Balinoe.
